The Merz Box Project.
Illustration students were asked to contribute to the Merz Box project which is an exhibition that travels around the country. I was given the Two Brother's story by the Brother's Grimm to Illustrate and this is what I came up with.
This image was heavily influenced by the Wallpaper designer Hanna Werning who uses a lot of silhouettes within her work. I also decided to use silhouettes because it was the easiest way to represent a lot of animals and characters within a picture.
The decision to use Photoshop was to gain new computer skills and the choice of a neutral colour palette came naturally as the story was based on a woodland theme.
Thanks for taking the time to read this post.
